El londinenc ha gravat "The Confuser" (el seu vint-i-cinquè LP) a Nashville (on viu) de la mà de Brad Jones seguint amb fidelitat i orgull el seu estil que beu de la psicodèlia/pop rock amb referències artístiques com Lennon (principal referent), Syd Barrett i alguns altres de la seva època favorita, els seixanta.
Cançons que recorden els seus inicis amb els Soft Boys o com "I'm This Thing" que em porta a pensar en els Squeeze i el Nick Lowe més pop.(8/10)

El que va ser guitarrista del grup de la Patti Smith (que surt aquí com a convidada) i creador del "Nuggets" el mític recopilatori de grups de la psicodèlia de finals dels seixanta, presenta ara als setanta nou anys el seu disc de debut.
Bona música que té cançons amb lletres tristes com sentim a "The Things You Leave Behind", i temes a l'estil heartland rock que recorden artistes en la línia de Willie Nile. (7/10)
